Golf Wang FW15

feat

I’m strangely attracted to Golf Wang’s fall winter 2015 lookbook. The colour scheme is mint and the nature of it is quite naïve and youthful. Not to mention the hot Emile Hirsch look-a-like model!

I remember when I first heard of Odd Future, or Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All (OFWGKTA for short). They were blowing up on Tumblr with their low beats and dark, twisted lyrics. It was really fresh and I pretty much ate it all up. Today, several artists from the rap collective has made a name for themselves outside of Odd Future including Tyler the Creator, Frank Ocean and Earl Sweatshirt. I’m loving their sounds as well, and it’s the kind of new take on music that manifests itself in their clothes as well. It’s silly, childish and unpretentious, a nice break from reality.

Who

If you could be anyone, who would you be? If you weren’t restrained by social and cultural norms, money, fear – would you be someone else?

I think people have the ability to grow into several different versions of themselves. Some of your personality is set from birth, whilst the rest is attributed through experiences. The photos below I feel represent the story of becoming someone, in the beginning you’re distorted and your next move is unclear but eventually you know yourself more and more.

Life in Technicolour

Drake’s new video just had me dig up a Pinterest board I’d almost forgotten about. I love the movement of light; honestly just seeing the sun gleam through my window blinds in the morning makes me so happy. It’s of course not different when it comes to coloured neon lights. These pictures give me that 70’s disco feel mixed with some Enter The Void contemporary visuals.

Be The Change You Want To See

Weekend eye candy! Check out this beautiful editorial by Harley Weir for i-D Magazine’s Activist issue from this spring. I love the styling by Julia Sarr-Jamois, and model Aya Jones.

Pause

A captured moment is perhaps my favourite style of images within the vast and unlimited categorical specter of photography. Photographs that rely little on the environment and more on the individuals facial expression, the shape of their bodies and the moment they are in reveal so much more than any fancypants ANTM type of shoot. They are generally more enjoyable for me, and as a pretty basic person (no need to front) I can relate a whole lot more to personalized images that set a mood than a dolled up celebrity captured by the likes of LaChapelle (which in their own way can be beautiful as well).

This set is a pretty accurate description of my week so far, haha.

Current Mood: Undress

Hi!

I’m heading out to Barcelona today to spend time with family. This summer has been all work, work, work and not much play so it will be nice to unwind and have some fun before going back to London! Also, I’m excited about finally being in a warm climate so I’m leaving all my jumpers behind.

I’ve been there once before but only for a couple of days so any advice on Barcelona gems to see (or even in the surrounding areas) are welcomed. 7 6 4 3 2 1
