Africa Rising Commoner Creature Colour Mood Editorial5

I absolutely love the colours and atmosphere in these images shot by Ed Singleton. The styling by Solange Franklin is right up my alley as I’m getting more and more into patterns, contrast and warm colours!

Topsy-Turvy

feat

I’m so busy these days with uni work and extra curricular work that in the late evenings I try to just chill out, turn my brain off and browse through my go-to websites for editorials. How lovely is the model in this editorial from U+MAG? I’m in awe of her eyebrows, facial structure, lips… She’s gorgeous. And speaking of gorgeous, I’m loving many of the looks being shown right now at couture fashion week, can’t wait to do a summary post. For now, here’s Topsy-Turvy.

During the time I was retouching these pictures, a special moon was about to appear in our universe, one of the two kinds of Blue Moon. The moon has a deep impact on me physically and mentally and all this came together at this time. I can´t really explain why but I think it has something to do with me being a daydreamer and highly sensitive to atmosphere and I love to wander around empty streets at night; there is a certain peace and everything stands still.

Missing Summer Already

The only issue that comes with following, in my humble opinion, the greatest online magazine to ever come out of Australia? Their summer is slowly creeping up on them, while the exact opposite is happening on this side of the globe. I already bought a winter coat – but this editorial have me missing summer already.

Love Letters

This Sofia Coppola/The Virgin Suicides-like editorial caught my eye. I enjoy her films a lot, both the visuals and the slow-paced scenes. More often than not, her characters are kind of in limbo, waiting for something to happen. I’m thinking about almost the entirety of The Virgin Suicides as well as Lost in Translation and the garden and evening scenes of Marie Antoinette. Perhaps it has to do with her own upbringing – I can imagine she spent a lot of time waiting around while accompanying her parents on set.

This Oystermag editorial is clearly inspired by this; the girls seem demure and quiet, the fashion and inserted quotes from the film alike.
